About the College
"From the College Website

The SVCE is a unit of Sri Venkateswara Educational and Health Trust (SVEHT).The Trust was founded on 1 August 1984 at the behest and benign blessings of His Holiness Pujashree Kanchi Kamakoti Peedathipathi Sri Jayendra Saraswathi Swamigal. Dr. A. C. Muthia, a renowned engineer, industrialist and philanthropist is the Chairman of the Governing Council of the college. The college is in a 95 acre lush green Campus. It is housed in architecturally exquisite buildings with ample infrastructure such as classrooms, laboratories, libraries, sports arena, canteen, hostels, dispensary, bank etc., While the College supports the learning of the highest order through its quality infrastructure and eminent faculty, it also provides a wide scope for excellent development of personality of students through the effectively functional Associations meant for professional, co-curricular and extracurricular activities. Within a short period, this College has taken firm strides and has grown to be at the top of the table in India. The college celebrated its decennium on March 16, 1996 and its silver jubilee on Sep 29, 2010.

The college aims to:

  • Implement programmes of education in engineering and allied disciplines.
  • Disseminate knowledge.
  • Achieve academic excellence.
  • Promote research.
  • Foster cooperation and experience sharing between faculty and industry.
  • Help students develop entrepreneurship and soft skills.
  • Provide an atmosphere for students’ all round growth.

The college offers programmes in Engineering and technology leading to undergraduate Degrees in the disciplines Automobile Engineering, Biotechnology, Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Information Technology, Marine Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering. Moreover, it offers post-graduate Degrees in Biotechnology, Communication Systems, Computer Applications, Computer Science and Engineering, Computer-Aided Design, Power Electronics and Drives, and Computer & Communications. Furthermore, it offers research programmes in departments of Applied Chemistry, Applied Physics, Computer Science and Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Humanities, and Mechanical Engineering.

The College has faculty members who are an ideal blend of youth and experience. They focus on concept teaching rather than content transfer. The laboratories take students beyond curriculum. The latest and the state of the art facilities are being used by both staff and students beyond the college hours.

Admissions to all undergraduate and postgraduate programmes are made through two types of quotas, Government Quota and Management Quota. Detailed information on the admission processes of these quotas are given under “Admission” page.

The College offers research programmes in several areas of engineering and technology faculties. More than forty faculty members are with PhD, and they guide more than fifty PhD students, currently. Many major departments have research funding from various national funding agencies. Faculty members and students have been publishing hundreds of research articles every year and have been organizing and attending national and international conferences.

The College offers several scholarships on its own and from other sources on the basis of economics means, merit, merit-cum-means and sports. These are instituted to recognize and appreciate excellence in academics, sports and NCC. The College promotes co-curricular and extracurricular activities of students.

The Placement Cell provides placement opportunities for all the students who have opted for placement. Consistently, more than 90% students are placed in multi-national and local companies, in both core and software sectors. The Cell also provides awareness and counseling sessions for the benefit of the students in the areas of Higher Studies.

The College can talk rightly and with pride of its staff and students making a name for the College and themselves on the international conferences in North America, Europe, East Asia and Africa with their research papers and participation in conferences and can talk with pride on ever increasing admissions of its students to MS, MBA and PhD programs in America, Canada, United Kingdom, Germany and Australia. More than 50% of its students of every batch have admitted in various universities with financial aid. The majority of the rest is either pursuing post graduate studies in India or employed with premier organizations in public or private sectors.

Last, but not the least; the College is very proud of its alumni. They form an integral part of the College, though residing in different parts of the globe. They meet twice a year and involve themselves actively and wholeheartedly through several schemes for the benefit of their alma mater and their students.
